Corridas

Three Spanish riders on the top in America. Marquez comes back to win in MotoGP, Raul Fernandez wins again in Moto2 and the rookie Guevara wins the very short Moto3 race. Good race for the Honda Team Asia in Moto2 with Ogura again 7th on the finish line. No points in Moto3 for the Honda Team Asia powered by MIVV with Kunii 25th and Izdihar 24 in the shorter race of the year.

Both riders were scoring their best lap times, showing a clear progression. But the interruptions and a mistake of Kunii on the second grid have ruined all the options of good results at the Circuit of the Americas.

With 3 races to the end of the season, MIVV and Honda are hardly working with the riders to create the conditions to be more competitive the next year.

Yuki Kunii #92 -25

“Of course, I’m not happy about the result. My team is working hard for me, and I would like to thank the effort and say again I’m sorry for the result. During the weekend, I struggled a lot, and I started from behind the grid. I tried to be concentrated, and I improved a lot my best lap time. That is the positive part of today’s history, and I recovered my feeling and confidence a little. Unfortunately, the race was stopped by a red flag. But at the grid of the second race, I made a mistake, and my bike stopped. I started from pit lane, riding alone until the second red flag. The only I can say is that a little confidence is coming back. I will try to keep going for Misano.”

Andi Farid Izdihar #19-24

“This weekend was my first time here, and I learned every session. The layout is challenging, but I like it. Many riders have complained about the bumps, but I’ve been concentrate on my learning. I’m happy because from FP2, on dry conditions, until the race, I improved from half to one second every session, included the race, where I rode one second faster than yesterday on qualifying. That is is the general view. This race has been complicated because I started from the back, to try to catch the front riders was risky. My target for Misano is to begin as in front as possible.”

 Hiroshi Aoyama – Team Manager

Today, both riders were getting back part of his speed, especially Andi, who had good confidence. He had a good chance, but the race was stopped by a red-flagged. It was a pity because he could not show how big it was his progression. We’re looking forward to arriving in Misano to continue working hard.”
