Honda wins in Moto3 with the Italian Dennis Foggia. In Moto2, the Spanish rookie Fernandez is first by a large margin and in MotoGP another Italian, on Ducati, takes his first victory. While it continues the positive run of the Japan Ogura in Moto2, 8th on the finish line, in Moto3 the Honda Team Asia riders were unable to show their potential, riding at the group’s back throughout the race. The situation is not the best and all the Moto3 team must work to improve its performance in the next races. Mivv will work with Honda to give the riders the maximum support.
Yuki Kunii #92 – P17
“My start was bad, after that, I tried to recover, but when I caught the group, I was unable to fight with them, I wasn’t comfortable on the bike, going in the limit. It wasn’t possible to stay there. I tried to continue fighting until the end, but I could not be happy about this race. I’m sorry because I couldn’t do my best. Next race at Misano, I will try to do it much better than this race.”
Andi Farid Izdihar #19-20
“Honestly, I was confident at the beginning of the race. This morning during the warmup, we made some changes and the bike as well. But after five laps, I started to feel the bike very different. I tried to continue, but I could not continue with the group. As much I pushed, as worse was the lap time. That is something to analyse for the next race.”
Hiroshi Aoyama – Team Manager
“A quite difficult race for both riders. Kunii lost a lot of positions at the start. After he caught up with the group, but he hadn’t enough pace. Andi did a good start but couldn’t keep such a pace, and then he dropped quite a lot. Both riders didn’t make it a good performance. We’re not happy about these results. I don’t know if it is about some mechanical problem. But they must improve, this is very clear. Now is the time when they must show us what they have. They cannot continue like this so many races.”
