While Quartararo wins the MotoGP Race, Lowes hammers the Moto2 class and the rookie Acosta wins the second race of the Moto3 class, Kunii scores his first point. The Japanese rider finishes at only 2,2 second of the winner, fighting in the middle of a massive rider’s group. Andi Farid Izdihar struggled with a too hard tyre that didn’t allow him the have the feeling of fighting for a better position.
MIVV and Honda are working to improve the performance of their riders.

Yuki Kunii #92: P24

«I’m delighted with my first point in the Championship. Before the race, I was worried because I hadn’t enough pace. But finally, I have had my best race. I’ve been with the big group all the time, but I was struggling a lot to follow them because of my lack of pace. I tried to enjoy and to fight as much as I could. I hope this could be a starting point. I must try to be calm, and I’m too stressed during the weekend. It’s an important lesson I learned this weekend.»

Andi Farid Izdihar #19: P26

«I haven’t had a feeling during the race. Yesterday I had many problems, and I had the option to do only eight laps in total. During the warm-up, we tried to recover the time lost yesterday, but we cannot. My start wasn’t good; despite that, I’ve been inside the top group some laps. But I struggled too much; I hadn’t the option to fight with the other riders. Anyway, this is my second race in Moto3 class, and I will keep working thinking on the next race in Portimao.»

Hiroshi Aoyama – Team Manager

«What a crazy race with seven riders starting from the pit lane. The top group was big until the last lap, with the riders who started from the pit lane catching the group and leading the race. Kunii was there, fighting for his first point; finally, he got it, and we are happy about that. He must continue improving the race management, that it wasn’t perfect. Andi struggled to manage his pace. He chose the H tyre, and I think that made the situation harder. But he managed to finish the race. He’s in the process to learn, and he should try to keep improving.»
